Marian Central student named merit scholar award finalist

Charles Rakers, principal of Marian Central Catholic High School, has announced that Theresa Reckamp of Harvard has met all requirements to advance to finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship awards competition for 2008.

She has been chosen from among 16,000 semifinalists named last September. The selection of some 8,200 merit scholarship winners from the group of more than 15,000 finalists is now in progress.

Winners will be notified in March.
