Police: Schaumburg man laced peanut butter with hashish

A Schaumburg man finds himself in a sticky legal situation after police said they found a nearly 4-pound frozen brick of peanut butter laced with hashish in his home.

Eric Michael Koch, 27, of 1926 Prairie Square, No. 212, was charged with three felony counts each of marijuana possession and delivery, as well as possession of cocaine.

According to police reports, authorities conducted a sting in which an undercover officer bought a quarter-pound of marijuana from Koch outside his apartment for $1,360.

After the sale, police took Koch into custody. In addition to the vat of laced peanut butter, a subsequent search of Koch's apartment revealed 169 grams of cannabis, nearly $5,000 in cash, an electronic scale and a small amount of cocaine, authorities said.

Koch is being held on $100,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court March 14.
