From the Armed Forces
• Air Force Airman Andrew T. Laroy, a 2006 graduate of Schaumburg High School, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Tom Laroy of Schaumburg, and grandson of Dorthy Lichthardt, Medinah.
• Air Force Airman Kalan A. Miller, daughter of Alan Smith, Moore, Okla., and Kimberly Delia, Schaumburg, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
During the six weeks of training, the Miller studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Miller is a 2003 graduate of Moore High School.
• Sean Barel, a 2007 graduate of Schaumburg High School, graduated with honors in December from the U.S. Air Force basic training at Lakeland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Barel is currently in the U.S. Air Force technical training at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss.
