Car hits school bus in Lisle; no injuries reported

A school bus was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Lisle this morning but no one was injured, according to police.

A small Laidlaw bus carrying one child was traveling west on Warrenville Road crossing Route 53 about 8:30 a.m. when it was struck by a motorist who ran a red light, Sgt. Ron Wilke said.

Jerome Belter, 70, of Mt. Prospect, was cited for disobeying a traffic signal.

Crews were on the scene for about 45 minutes clearing the crash. Both vehicles were towed from the intersection.
