• Eastern Illinois University in Charleston announced the following students were awarded bachelor's degrees at the end of the spring 2007 semester.

Des Plaines: Laura Jean Hagstrom and Danielle Marie Moss (education).

Elk Grove Village: Matthew C. Burke, Kevin Peter Lazare (business), Edward McEnery (business), Michael Eugene Nadler and Renee Diane Quinnett.

Mount Prospect: Kristen Michelle De Vito, James Joseph Euting and Maria Rose Lollino.

Park Ridge: Amanda Jean Jahrling and Nicole Ann Misurlian (business).

The following students were the recipients of bachelor's degrees during the summer of 2007.

• Ashley Ray of Elk Grove Village, a student at Eureka College, was named to the 2007-08 fall dean's list for maintaining a grade point average of least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

• Michelle Friedman, Des Plaines, Brian Palmere, Elk Grove Village and Nora Dwyer, Park Ridge, all students at Purdue University, were selected for membership in the 2007 Purdue "All-American" Marching Band.

• Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, awarded master's degrees to the following students on Aug. 11 at the end of the summer session.

Elk Grove Village: Kellyanne Marie Bernard, College of Business, business administration.

Park Ridge: Timothy John Allen, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; and Kirsten Ann Krone, College of Education.

• Elmhurst College announced the following students were awarded bachelor's degrees at the May 27 commencement ceremony.

Des Plaines: Jill Buck, cum laude, psychology; Allison Hattenhauer, summa cum laude, elementary education; Kristen Kaage, elementary education; Jennifer Maatta, management; Daniela Ruffolo, summa cum laude, elementary education; Dove Vavra, special education; and Jenna Vistain, business education.

Elk Grove Village: Deanna Bavaro, English, secondary education; Brian Chassee, English, Spanish; Debra Dalber, magna cum laude, psychology, sociology; Kelly Hahn, cum laude, elementary education; Christine Leetzow, magna cum laude, education; Lauren Rybka, cum laude, nursing; Kathryn Sagerer, summa cum laude, mathematics, secondary education; Mark Schwarz, cum laude, history; Jenna Terpinas, special education; and James Vozzella, theater, history.

Prospect Heights: Rosa Cirone, management; and Melissa Goodrich, music business.

Rosemont: Justin Hagstrom, accounting; Brianne Koletsos, magna cum laude, special education; and Gregory Rohatsch, summa cum laude, accounting.

• Clifford Steinberg of Prospect Heights was one of 46 Northern Illinois University business students honored Aug. 25 for winning a competition that covered all aspects of campus life among the residents of NIU's Business Careers House. Participants won points for activities such as making the dean's list, tutoring peers, attending professional development workshops, volunteering for charitable projects and participating in the College of Business' Ethics Day.

• Illinois State University in Normal announced the following students completed requirements for a bachelor's degree at the end of the summer 2007 term.

Elk Grove Village: Joseph Leo Gerardi.

Mount Prospect: James M. Argentine, Timothy P. Meier and Gina Nicole Seidl.

Park Ridge: Joseph Trout Burke, Siobhan Maureen Riley, Trevor James Russell and Elayne Lynn Storc.

Prospect Heights: Christian Fredrick Borowski, Francis Joseph Bucaro and Matthew W. Standish.

• John Michael Shoro of Elk Grove Village completed requirements for a master of education degree from Illinois State University, Normal, at the end of the 2007 summer session.

• Debra A. Nafis, daughter of Doug and Jan Nafis of Mount Prospect, and a junior in the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Evanston, was named to the Dean's List for the 2007/08 fall quarter. Nafis is a 2005 graduate of Prospect High School.

• Kelsey Carmichael, a student at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, was invited and has joined Alpha Lambda Delta honor society. To be eligible, students need to have a grade point average of 3.5 or better. Carmichael is a graduate of Prospect High School was also a freshmen starter for the WMU soccer team.
