Good MRI report on Khabibulin's back

The MRI exam today on Blackhawks goalie Nikolai Khabibulin showed no major damage, but the back spasms he suffered may keep him out of action for games on Wednesday and Thursday.

Team officials said Khabibulin's injury status will remain day to day.

Khabibulin has missed two straight games after being sidelined when back spasms that flared in Wednesday's game against Minnesota. His back apparently stiffened on Thursday's four-hour flight to California, causing him to miss games against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks.
