Moynihan a winner despite defeat
To the editor: I want to congratulate John Moynihan, the people's candidate for state representative 56th District, on conducting a truthful and honest campaign.
He did not have Madigan money and patronage people working for him as did Paul Froehlich. John had an army of volunteers of all ages supporting him door-to-door, phone-to-phone.
John had little to gain if he had won except the satisfaction of helping give Illinois government back to the people. Mr. Froehlich needs this election to secure his second Illinois pension. It is about him.
It is unfortunate that Mr. Froehlich distorted information about the law firm that John Moynihan works for. How dare Froehlich tell us where Mr. Moynihan stands on abortion -- how dare he tell us what John believes.
Spend time, Mr. Froehlich, telling us what you stand for -- if there is anything you will really fight to make right.
I do not believe the audacity of Mr. Froehlich, a lifelong registered Republican, to question whether John Moynihan is a Democrat! Most people say negative advertising is distasteful, but that is primarily what Mr. Froehlich used and yet 56 percent of the Democrats voted for him as their candidate.
Moynihan has a burning desire to fix what is broken. Who will champion the people, especially the children of Illinois now?
To begin, we NEED legislators that will work to give us a wholly transparent budget in ALL departments and branches. We need to continue what John Moynihan ignited in us. To paraphrase John Kennedy: Ask not what Illinois can do for you; ask what you can do for Illinois.
