Annual dinner for economic development group

The McHenry County Economic Development Corporation will hold its annual dinner on March 6 at Three Oaks Lodge and Conference Center, Holiday Inn, Crystal Lake.

"The MCEDC annual dinner provides a wonderful opportunity for business and industry leaders to network and celebrate MCEDC's many successes, as well as those of McHenry County," said Chris Manheim, president of MCEDC.

"We are delighted to have noted economist Carl Tannenbaum as our keynote speaker. With today's fast-changing economy, his economic forecast is certainly to provide valuable insight into 2008"

Currently, Tannenbaum is an economic consultant who most recently was the chief economist for LaSalle Bank Corp., a $110 billion organization centered in Chicago providing institutional clients with intelligence on the financial markets and the business cycle. In addition to his economic duties, Tannenbaum also was responsible for measuring the organization's interest rate risk and monitoring its investment portfolio. He was with LaSalle for 24 years.

In addition to the keynote presentation, MCEDC will introduce the Business Champions award winners.

"McHenry County is fortunate to have many outstanding companies and individuals who have made positive contributions to our economy and our community. The selection process was very difficult and we looking forward to announcing the winners at the dinner," Manheim said.

Dinner tickets, which include hors d'oeuvres, a gourmet dinner and an open bar, are $125 per person.

RSVPs and payments are due no later than Friday. Advance registration is necessary.
