Art Fair in Bartlett evolves into full-blown festival
The 2008 Art Fair in Bartlett has evolved into an arts festival covering not only the visual arts, but performing and cultural arts too.
Arts in Bartlett will put the different mediums on display when the group hosts its sixth annual event June 28-29 in Bartlett Park.
"There are so many aspects of the cultural arts we want to display and showcase," said founder Cecilia Green. "We're offering a bigger variety of entertainment that will include storytelling, drama, dance, music and wine tasting, culinary and craft demonstrations."
Last year's fair drew about 2,000 people. The Best of Show award went to a Chicago artist for gelatin silver print photography. Artists specialized in oil, pastels and watercolor paintings, sculpture, jewelry, fine crafts and fiber.
Illinois artists interested in displaying and selling their work need to act quickly. Apply by paper for $30 by March 1; applications are available for download at artsinbartlett.org or by calling (630) 372-4152. Apply online for $15 by March 15; applications can be found at zapplication.org. The number of exhibitors will be limited to 55. Rental spaces run $100.
