Mt. Prospect man dies in early morning crash in Indiana
A Mount Prospect man died early Tuesday morning when a semitrailer smashed into a truck he was driving along the Indiana Toll Road.
Fosciak Z. Wojciech, 41, died in LaPorte County, about 60 miles east of Chicago, according to the Indiana State Police.
About 4:30 a.m., a semi-trailer jackknifed along the toll road near the small town of Rolling Prairie, causing the crash with Wojciech's semi-trailer, said Lt. Dallard Tackett of the Indiana State Police.
Two other semitrailers and a car were also tangled up in the collision. There were also two non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, Tackett said.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, Tackett said.
The eastbound lanes were closed almost all day Tuesday between the LaPorte and South Bend exits, he said.
Company officials for Arlington Metals Inc. in Franklin Park, which Wojciech is believed to have worked for, declined to comment on the accident since it's still under investigation.
