• Katherine Joy Sedin of Grayslake graduated with a bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wis., on May 13.

• Nicole Stanton of Round Lake graduated with a degree in post-baccalaureate teacher preparation in elementary education grades from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah.

• The University of Wisconsin-Madison named the following students to the 2006-07 spring semester Dean's List for ranking in the top 10 percent of their class or achieving a grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Following are the area students and their colleges.

Gurnee: Kelly Ellen Clinton-Cirocco, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences; Denise Marie Fesik, School of Business; Nickolas James Jikomes, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences; and Katherine Smith, College of Letters and Science.

• The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater announced the following students were named to the spring 2007 Dean's List for achieving at least a 3.4 semester grade point average. Students, their major, year in college and high school attended include the following.

• DePaul University in Chicago announced the following students graduated last summer at the 108th commencement. Local students, their honors and degrees include:

Lindenhurst: Jason Goodman, master of business administration in international business; and Sara McKeever, with high honor in political science.

Round Lake: Xavier Villarreal, degree from the School for New Learning Degree Program; Renee Fish, degree from the School for New Learning Degree Program; and German Alvarez, telecommunication systems.

Round Lake Beach: Heidi Young-Rothfus, social and cultural foundations in education; Lisa Alter, teaching and learning elementary education; Daniel Utz, with distinction in software engineering; and Mark Hiniker, with distinction in software engineering.
