Mount Prospect man dies in early morning Indiana crash

A Mount Prospect man died early Tuesday morning when a semi-trailer smashed into his truck along the Indiana Toll Road.

Fosciak Z. Wojciech, 41, of Mount Prospect, died in LaPorte County, about 60 miles east of Chicago, according to the Indiana State Police.

At about 4:30 a.m., a semi-trailer jackknifed along the toll road near the small town of Rolling Prairie, causing the crash with Wojciech's semi-trailer, said Lt. Dallard Tackett of the Indiana State Police.

Two other semi-trailers and a car were also tangled up in the collision. There were two other non-life threatening injuries involved in the crash, he said.

The exactly cause of the crash is still under investigation, Tackett said.

The eastbound lanes were closed almost all day Tuesday between the LaPorte and South Bend exits, he said.
