MCC to support NIU memorial
McHenry County College will be remembering the victims of the Feb. 14 tragedy on the NIU campus by raising money to support the DeKalb/Sycamore Community Memorial Fund established by the DeKalb and Sycamore Chambers of Commerce, in cooperation with the DeKalb County Community Foundation.
The fund will be used for some type of community memorial of the incident that took the lives of five NIU students.
To kick off this effort, the MCC athletics department will waive all game admission fees and instead ask for donations toward the NIU memorial at the MCC Scots games scheduled for tonight vs. Waubonsee. The women's game begins at 5:15 p.m. and the men's game begins at 7:15 p.m. These are the last regular-season home games for the Scots.
Mat move: This weekend's dual team wrestling state finals have been moved from Northern Illinois University to Wharton Field House in Moline. The time schedule will remain the same.
