Illinois should end the death penalty
We were disappointed to read Christy Gutowski's article regarding, "Three DuPage elected officials called for Gov. Blagojevich to lift Illinois' moratorium on executions." We had hoped we might catch up with other states and European countries that have abolished the death penalty. DuPage is one of the most desirable counties to live in, with high education and income levels and a low crime rate. They have communities that base their lifestyles on Christian principles, one of which speaks of Jesus as the Redeemer. He died for our sins. The Redeemer! We are to follow his lead. So how can we execute sinners? Dead people are beyond redemption.
