• Waubonsee Community College President Christine J. Sobek has been invited to participate in "Establishing Statewide Articulation Agreements," a meeting sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Vocational and Adult Education. The meeting is the third in a series of four sponsored by the office focusing on "Issues that Matter to Community Colleges."

Sobek is one of 20 community college presidents from across the country who have been invited to attend the March 1 meeting in Denver, Colo.

• Dawn Tutt was awarded a doctor of audiology degree from the School of Audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Elkins Park, Pa.

Tutt earned her bachelor's degree in communication disorders and sciences from Southern Illinois University and received a master of arts in audiology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Tutt resides with her husband and children in Batavia, and is the daughter of Susan Minor of Barrington, and Don Minor, Lake Zurich. She is in practice at Naperville Hearing Services in Naperville.

• Jeri Mell of Maple Park has been named vice president, residential lending for Old Second National Bank in Elburn. Mell has been in residential lending for 15 years.

• Troy Langeness of Elburn has been named vice president, residential lending for Old Second National Bank in Wasco. Langeness has been in residential lending for 23 years and with Old Second National Bank for 19 years. He has a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from Illinois College in Jacksonville.

• Bill Roach of St. Charles has been named vice president, residential lending for Old Second National Bank in west Batavia. Roach has been in residential lending for 17 years and with Old Second National Bank for 14 years. He has a bachelor's degree in sociology and education with a minor in physical education and coaching from Western Illinois University and has been a resident of the Fox Valley area for 18 years.

• Greg Kuda of Hampshire has been named vice president, residential lending for Old Second National Bank in Elgin. Kuda has been in residential lending with Old Second National Bank for 20 years. He has lived in Hampshire for more than 15 years.

• Steve Weber of Geneva has been named first vice president, mortgage banking for Old Second National Bank in Aurora. Weber has been with Old Second for 10 years. Prior to his employment with Old Second National Bank, he owned the Financial Center Mortgage Company for 17 years in Milwaukee and Naperville.

• Dennis Ithal of North Aurora received a community service award from the Fox Valley Park District. The awards are given jointly by the Illinois Park and Recreation Association, the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Fox Valley Park District to recognize members of the community who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of parks, recreation and leisure. Ithal was the organizer of the annual National Amputee Golf Association tournament, held at Orchard Valley Golf Course in August.
