Byrd School to hold fun fair

Admiral Byrd School Fun Fair will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the school, 265 Wellington Ave., Elk Grove Village.

Admission is free and tickets for games and food can be purchased at the door for 25 cents each.

Games, prizes, obstacle course, face painting, inflatable jumpers, basketball, cake walk, candy, tattoos, goldfish, hair and make-up, balloon animals, nail art, snow cones, duck pond, penguin lollipop tree, fortune teller, and raffles are featured. Food includes pizza and hot dogs.

Preschool open house at Weiss

Trail Blazers Preschool Informational Open House will be hosted by the River Trails Park District from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Weiss Community Center, 1500 E. Euclid Ave., Mount Prospect. Participants will tour the classroom and meet with teachers. "Trusty the Turtle" will make a guest appearance to give each child a special gift. For more information, call (847) 255-1200.

Dist. 214 offers night school

District 214 now offers Sundown Academy, a program of evening summer school classes. Sundown Academy is available to junior and senior students who are unable to attend summer school during the day.

Eligible students may attend one of nine courses at the academy four nights per week from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. June 16 through July 24 at Forest View Educational Center's Vanguard School. A list of courses will be available in the February issue of Parent Newsletters.
