Aurora police probe shooting incident

Aurora police are investigating reports of shots being fired into a moving SUV earlier this week, authorities said Thursday.

Spokesman Dan Ferrelli said a 17-year-old Plano man with known gang affiliations was driving about 9:35 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Front Street when several shots were fired at his vehicle.

At least one bullet was fired by a handgun, and shattered the driver's-side window, police said. Neither the driver nor any of his three passengers, including a 1-year-old child, were hit.

The driver, however, was treated at the scene with wounds to his eye caused by the shattering glass.

Also in the car were a 20-year-old man from Batavia, a 26-year-old woman from Aurora and a 14-year-old girl from Aurora.

Police said the SUV sustained about $1,100 damage.
