Cary District 26 goes tropical for fundraiser
Take a break from winter and help District 26 kids at the same time.
The Cary 26 Education Foundation has announced that it will hold an inaugural spring fundraising event, "Spring Break '08 in the Carybbean." Join the fete from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. March 8 at the Cary Country Club in Cary for a Caribbean-inspired mix of food, live music from the band "Pirates Over 40," silent auction and raffle.
The focus for this event is a safer school environment through improved emergency communication. Part of the proceeds raised will benefit all District 26 students in the form of an Instant Alert System. This will provide timely, consistent and accurate information to parents or guardians in the event of emergencies such as school lockdowns, weather-related closings and bus delays. Also, additional proceeds from this event will benefit District 26 students in the form of grants, sponsorships, educational trips, and more.
The cost per person is $35. Purchase eight tickets and a table will be reserved for you and your guests.
The deadline to purchase tickets is March 1. Visit Web site www.cary26foundation. org to download a registration form or pay online.
For more information on the event, contact Jan Wisniewski by e-mail, CEFevent@cary26foundation.org.
The foundation has awarded more than $15,500 in grants to date that have directly impacted the students of District 26.
