Babysitting Clinic registration: Registration is under way for a daylong Red Cross Babysitting Clinic, to be held 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 15. This educational session for will focus on basic childcare, emergency action, first aid, and more. Sign up in person at the library's registration desk. The program requires a $15 nonrefundable fee due at registration. Class size is limited to 10 Mount Prospect students and teens in grades six to 12.
Movies @ MPPL: The library presents a complimentary movie screening at 1 p.m. Thursday. For information on this month's featured film, call (847) 253-5675.

Cookies & More: Drop by for refreshments and an informal chat with a Mount Prospect Public Library Board member, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. No registration is required.
Cookie and Cupcake Decorating: Cookie and cupcake decorating techniques, will be demonstrated from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. today. A $3 registration fee includes recipes and samples. Register in person at the library's Registration Desk.
Movie Discussion: Audiovisual coordinator John McInnes hosts a complimentary screening and discussion of a feature film, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Coffee and Conversation: "The Millennial Generation" is the topic for the February installment of "Coffee and Conversation," the library's monthly current events discussion group, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. This moderated discussion, focusing on the work ethic, motivations and expectations of those born between 1980 and 2000, strives to encourage greater understanding of diverse viewpoints and offers a venue where people can participate in honest discussion. Book Voyagers: Share stories, a craft and a video about blankets and quilts from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Monday. A snack will also be served. This program is reserved for 35 Mount Prospect Public Library cardholders in grades one through three.
'Chat & Chew': Children in grades four to six will enjoy lunch and a discussion of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," by J.K. Rowling, from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday.

Register for Spring Storytimes: From Monday through Feb. 28, Mount Prospect Public Library cardholders may register their children ages 6 and under for a lottery to determine participation in the library's spring storytime series. These storytimes, held March 10 through April 18, cater to diverse age groups and help nurture a lifelong love of reading. To participate in the lottery, sign up in person at the Youth Services desk.
