Family
Lord of Life Church will host a Valentines Celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. today. The church is at Route 38 and La Fox Road in La Fox.
Families are invited for an evening with beautiful music and desserts. Cost is $ 5 at the door and reservations are not required.
Sunday morning worship is at 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. with Children's Sunday School during the 9:30 a.m. worship. Celebration Puppet Church for children is available during the 11 a.m. worship service.

Women
Learn about heart disease in younger women and what you can do to prevent it at the next meeting of Morning Break for Women from 9 to 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at St. Peter Church, 1891 Kaneville Road in Geneva.
Speaker Cindi Reuland had a heart attack at a young age, and now is affiliated with Heart Sisters of Fox Valley, a support group with the mission of educating area women about heart disease.
She is also associated with WomenHeart, the national coalition of women with heart disease, and serves on the board of the Women's Heart of Greater Chicago Foundation.
Reuland underwent training at the Mayo Clinic to inform women about risk factors and warning signs of heart disease and heart attack. Mary Stola, faith community nurse at St. Peter Church, will discuss how to maintain a healthy heart.
The morning begins with fellowship and a continental breakfast in the church's lower level Marquette Room, and the speaker begins at 9:30 a.m. A donation of $3 is suggested. Childcare is available for a fee. Infants may remain with their mothers. Women of all ages are invited to attend. Registration is requested; call Pam Mucha at (630) 232-0557. Mothers
"Moms Together," a ministry of the First Baptist Church of Geneva, welcomes Todd and Julie Burnett, who will present "Building the Character of Our Children" from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. Feb. 21 at the west campus at 3435 Keslinger Road in Geneva.
The presenters will discuss difficult obstacles that parents face regarding everyday decisions. They will be discussing childhood development, character development, and everyday discipline ideas.
Todd and Julie received their doctorates in clinical psychology at Wheaton College. Todd serves as the Director of Psychological Services at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. Julie works as a therapist for Centennial Counseling in Yorkville.
The cost is $6 per mom, $8 for a mom with one child, and $10 for a mom with two or more children.

Families
The Community Congregational Church at 100 E. Shannon St. in Elburn is having a family fun winter fest and chili cook-off 4 to 7 p.m. March 1.
There is a $25 fee to enter the chili cook-off. The prize is $150. Entry deadline is Feb. 24.
The fee to sample the chili is $5 for adults and $2 for children ages 5-10.
The evening includes games for the children. Hot dogs and other food will be available for purchase.

Guests may bring food pantry donations to receive free tickets for the fun fair. Denise Klock will be offering information regarding the child identification system m.i.l.k. There will also be crafts available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit educational programs for the church and community.
• The Little Home Church by the Wayside hosts a chili cook-off at 7 p.m. March 1 at 32W128 Army Trail Road in Wayne.
Guests can make their favorite recipe with five pounds of meat and a vote will be taken for the best chili. Guests are asked to bring toppings such as sour cream or shredded cheese, corn bread, oyster crackers or a dessert.
Proceeds will benefit the outreach ministry. A $5 fee is requested.

• Ss. Peter and Paul Church is hosting all-you-can-eat fish fries from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays during Lent. The church is at 5N939 Meredith Road (at Route 64) in Virgil.
The menu includes fried perch, baked cod, French fries, baked potato, vegetable, coleslaw, applesauce, dinner rolls and dessert. Shrimp and chicken nuggets as well as beer and pop are available at an extra charge. Carryout is also available.
The cost is $9.50 to $11 for adults, $4 to $6 for children ages 5 to 10, and free for children younger than 5.
