• Christopher H. Baker of Lincolnshire, a student at Columbia College in Missouri, was named to the dean's list for the 2007 August session. To qualify, a student must complete 12 semester hours and achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or greater on a 4.0 scale.

• Kyle Joseph Robinson of Grayslake was awarded a bachelor's degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa during its summer 2007 commencement ceremonies in Iowa City.

• Matthew Holland of Libertyville graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism, radio-television from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, after the 2007 spring semester.

• Jessica Marie Werneke of Grayslake was awarded a bachelor's degree in English, history, with honors from the University of Iowa during its summer 2007 commencement ceremonies in Iowa City.

• Jamie Fisher, daughter of Jim and Margarita Fisher of Hawthorn Woods, was named to the dean's list for the 2006-07 winter semester at the University of Dayton in Ohio. To qualify, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

• Danielle Meyer of Johnsburg was named to the 2006-07 honor roll at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. To qualify for the honor roll, students must have a GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

• Heather Frase, daughter of John and Dawn Frase of Lake Zurich, was named to the spring term dean's list at Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences in New York. To qualify, students must attain at least a 3.7 grade point average.

• Kelly M. Wells of Antioch graduated in August 2007 with a bachelor of science degree in sport and fitness management from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

• Kathryn Polutnik, daughter of Timothy and Susan Polutnik of Vernon Hills, graduated in May with a bachelor of music degree from Ithaca College's School of Music in New York.

• Daniel Joseph Scheck of Gurnee graduated from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, at the end of the spring 2007 semester with a master of science degree.

• Michael A. Miralgio of Vernon Hills, an evening student at Columbia College in Missouri, was named to the dean's list for the 2007 summer session. To qualify, a student must complete 12 semester hours and have at least a 3.5 grade point average.

• Andrew Beckwith, son of Tom and Jo Beckwith of Wadsworth, was among 103 young musicians selected from throughout the country to attend one of two Big Band Jazz sessions last summer at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Door County, Wis. Beckwith studies baritone saxophone privately with Frank Cataland and Jim Kasprzyk.
