Concerned parent: yes to Big Hollow
I am deeply concerned. I am a concerned parent because two of my children sit in a crowded classroom. I am a concerned parent because my kindergartner also has not had gym class or computer this year.
I am also a concerned citizen. I am concerned that the value of my home will drop because of the district's financial crisis. I am concerned that our community may not be viewed as a desirable, quality place to live. I am concerned not only for my own children, but for the hundreds of other children in the schools who are not learning up to their potential, not using their artistic and musical talents, and not getting enough computer education in a technology-driven world.
Are you concerned about the future of your community? Be part of the solution. Vote yes, then write your governor, your senators and your representatives to change how Illinois funds it schools. It isn't fair that the majority is funded from your property taxes, but this will not change until more people are active in advocating a change.
It does take a village to raise a child. Be a proud part of your community's education and future. Please vote yes for the Big Hollow referendum.
