Villas of Cambridge introduces new luxury townhouses

Buyers have three new models to tour at Villas of Cambridge as the builder introduces the new Arbor series of townhouses. These homes are smaller and less expensive than the homes in the Artisan series, but also provide luxurious townhouse living in a natural Streamwood setting.

The community by Cambridge Homes, located near the northwest corner of Route 59 and Route 20 (Lake Street), features more than 18 acres of open space, including more than seven acres of heavily wooded forest preserve, a park with a playground, and a central landscaped park site with a gazebo and pond.

Buyers can choose from three plans with two bedrooms, two to 2½ baths and two-car garages. All designs offer a range of flexible space, such as extra baths, bedrooms and lofts, and two plans are available with dual master bedroom suites. Townhouses are being built with four or five homes in each building,

"The two lines of townhouses complement each other nicely, and with the recent grand opening of the Arbor series models, visitors to the Villas of Cambridge can now tour professionally appointed model homes of every plan in the community," said Paul F. Ivers, president of Cambridge Homes.

The community offers maintenance-free living, including exterior maintenance, landscaping, lawn care and snow removal.

The Pine, priced from $299,000, has 1,891 square feet, two bedrooms and two baths. In this raised ranch design, living is on the main floor except for the huge family room on the finished lower level.

This home features a chocolate, sage and teal color scheme, light woods and lots of framed artwork.

A cathedral ceiling tops the great room, kitchen and dining room, giving the home a bright, airy feel. A chocolate sectional and two chairs furnish the great room. The fireplace is optional. The dining room features a light wood table, set for four and topped with a floral centerpiece, and sliding doors to the deck. Fruit, candlesticks and pottery accessorize the room.

The kitchen features a fruit wallpaper border, bisque appliances, pantry and breakfast bar.

Green and white reign in the master bedroom that features a cathedral ceiling, light wood furnishings and a walk-in closet. The oversized bath has two sinks, tub and walk-in shower.

The second bedroom with walk-in closet is shown as a den with a desk and bookcases.

There is also a full hall bath on this floor.

The lower level is outfitted as a huge family room with a sofa and two chairs, media center, shelving units and a game table. There are other options for this space.

The Sycamore, priced from $291,000, has 2,047 square feet with two bedrooms plus loft and 2½ baths. This tri-level plan features dark woods and rich colors with some rustic touches.

A chocolate sofa and two leaf-print chairs furnish the living room, which is open to the dining room shown with a table for six, china cabinet and geometric print rug that adds color.

To the rear, the main level family room features a copper sofa, chair, plasma TV and credenza with candle and pottery display.

The kitchen/breakfast area has black appliances, a center island with overhang and furniture-quality cabinetry. The table in the breakfast area is set with chocolate and burnt orange place settings. There is also a pantry and doors to the deck.

Upstairs, the loft is decorated in a photography theme and is outfitted with a desk and two chairs.

The master bedroom with cathedral ceiling and walk-in closet features a copper spread and floral and leaf paintings. The wallpapered bath has two sinks, tub/shower combination and linen closet.

The second bedroom is furnished with a bed topped with a leaf-patterned spread and lots of pillows and a chest of drawers.

A full hall bath has one sink.

Entertaining will be easy in the lower level, set up with a bumper pool table, freestanding bar and bistro table and chairs.

Also modeled is The Willow, a tri-level plan similar to The Sycamore and priced from $275,000 with two bedrooms and loft, 2½ baths and finished lower level.

All homes will be in compliance with the new and more stringent Energy Star homes program in which homes need to achieve 50 percent energy savings for heating and cooling over the 2004 International Energy Conservation Code.
