Barrington wins regional; Ksioszk 2nd in all-around
Barrington junior Laura Sculley delivered a winning all-around total of 36.575 to help the Fillies win the girls gymnastics regional they hosted Friday night.
Barrington finished at 140.050 to earn a spot in Tuesday's Stevenson sectional meet.
Sculley did not win an individual event but finished now lower than fourth on any of them.
Barrington senior Kelsey Persels won vault with a 9.425 and placed fifth all-around at 35.525.
Buffalo Grove senior Christine Douthwaite won balance beam (8.925) and placed fourth in all-around (35.65). Sophomore Linda Dunne was third in all-around at 36.225 for the Bison, who placed second as a team with 136.85.
Lakes senior Cody Ksioszk won parallel bars (9.225) and floor exercise (9.6) on her way to a second-place finish in the all-around (36.55). The Eagles hit a team score of 128.925.
Mundelein's top all-arounder was junior Kelsey Teegen at 34.875. She automatically advanced to sectional in the floor exercise (9.5, second) and junior teammate Becca Schmidt made on balance beam 8(.725, third). The Mustangs finished fourth as a team at 128.575.
