Do better with online postings
I am concerned about your comment blogs that are allowed at the end of articles that are published on-line.
In particular, the comments following the recent article that you published about Kirk Denz's allegations against Wilson Nursery and the article today with Lake County District 5 candidates' responses to a number of questions posed to them by you, are very disturbing.
While I am a huge proponent of freedom of speech, these comments are totally out of line.
I live on Wooster Lake and I responded to one of the comments that I believed was factually erroneous. The postings that ensued were ridiculous. I was going to post some further comments, but I was concerned about the content, so I read the "terms of service" on your Web site and decided not to post any further comments.
Your terms of service state that no solicitations or advertisements are allowed. Many of the comments posted are soliciting votes for a particular candidate for public office, which I believe is in violation of your Web site terms.
I think that especially during an election campaign period, the media should be more vigilant than ever in screening what is allowed to be printed. You do this with your letters to the editor by editing them as you see fit. I think you should also do this with your online blogs. I believe that you need to either better monitor these blogs or shut them down.
