A deliberate and calculated scheme

Illegal immigration has been a deliberate and calculated scheme.

After the 1986 amnesty bill, we were promised, "No more amnesties." Well, there were more amnesties in smaller versions.

Now, this past year, our government, with the support of big business and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, tried to jam an immigration bill down our throats.

The planning and discussion for this bill was very secret. The bill was brought to the floor of the Senate very hastily for a vote.

Fortunately, the bill was defeated, with the help of "Talk Radio," the Heritage Foundation and some patriotic senators, and of course, the constant calling by the American people. It was an overwhelming "No" to this covert amnesty bill.

Since 1986, the government and business have turned a blind eye to the problem.

This was done deliberately, to create such a number of illegal immigrants that it would seem overwhelming, and force through another amnesty. This must not happen. We must hold our government to its promise of "no more amnesties."

Everyone who enters this country, must do it legally. Our present laws must be enforced.
