Algonquin

• An Algonquin man was arrested Sunday at his home on gun charges, police said. Thomas G. Neff, 34, of 2624 Williamsburg Drive, was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without a valid Firearm Owner's Identification card, police said. Neff posted $100 and was given a Feb. 27 court date in Woodstock.

• An Algonquin man was cited for leaving the scene of an accident at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, police said. Anthony Marin, 21, of 111914 Oceola Drive, was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to give aid or information after being involved in an accident, expired driver's license, improper lane use, obstructed windshield and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said. Marin posted $100 and was given a Feb. 27 court date in Woodstock.

Elgin

• An Elgin man was arrested during a traffic stop at 11 p.m. Sunday after a .38-caliber cartridge was found, police said. Tremell D. Battles, 18, of 721 Adams St., was charged with possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition without a Firearm Owner's Identification card, driving while license suspended and driving with suspended registration, police said. Battles was the held in the Kane County jail on $7,500 bond with a Feb. 14 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

South Elgin

• A 1997 black Lexus was stolen between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 4 p.m. Thursday from the 600 block of Jenna Drive.

West Dundee

• A West Dundee man was accused of drunken driving after he was involved in a crash at 12:45 a.m. Sunday at routes 31 and 72, police said. Martin Muller, 25, of 621 Canterfield Drive, was charged with DUI and felony damage to state-supported property after he head-butted and broke a squad car windshield, police said. Muller was held in the Kane County jail on $1,500 bond with a Feb. 7 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.

• An Elgin man was accused Sunday of stealing $597.98 worth of jewelry from JC Penney at Spring Hill Mall, police said. Jeffrey J. Anderson, 49, of 367 Dwight St., Elgin, was charged with felony retail theft, police said. Anderson was held in the Kane County jail on $5,000 bond with a Feb. 14 court date at the Kane County Judicial Center.
