Vote 'no' for new pool in Wauconda
The Wauconda Pool Foundation is trying to convince us to accept what amounts to a 20-year mortgage for a non-necessity that will benefit relatively few of those paying for it.
Perhaps the Feb. 5 Aquatic Center referendum question should be rephrased: "Do you think we should be raising the taxes of all Wauconda property taxpayers to buy a multimillion dollar recreational item which is expected by Park District estimates to be used by only 5 to 6 percent of Wauconda residents?"
If buying someone a water park isn't in your budget this year, and you would like to save thousands of dollars on your tax bills over the next 20 years, make your voice heard. Vote no on the Wauconda Park District referendum Feb. 5th.
