Obama has right blend of experience
In every Democratic candidate's debate, we hear how Hillary Clinton has 35 years experience. Since she is 14 years older than Barack Obama, one would think she has 14 years more experience than he does.
However, she spent 11 years in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion as first lady and eight years in the White House as first lady. Nineteen years as first lady does not qualify as presidential experience. If it did, Pat Nixon, Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush could all have the experience to be president.
I like Barack Obama's experience better. He was a community organizer, and I like to think of the United States as part of a world community. He practiced civil rights law. He taught constitutional law. How refreshing it would be to have someone who understands and reveres the Constitution of the United States.
He has more legislative experience than Clinton, counting his years in the Illinois state Senate.
However, voting records do not make great presidents. Great leaders do. Barack Obama has demonstrated tremendous leadership ability. Just look at the amazing organization he has created supporting his candidacy. He will make a great president.
