Woman arrested in prostitution sting
A DeKalb County woman faces prostitution charges after being busted in sting by Schaumburg police.
Police announced Friday that Amanda Nicole McGlothlin, 19, of 23564 McQueen Road in Malta, Ill., was charged Jan. 16 with one count of prostitution.
According to reports, Schaumburg police found an ad for McGlothlin online and set up a meeting with her at a local hotel on the 1200 block of Bank Drive about 9 p.m. Jan. 16.
When the undercover officer arrived at the hotel, McGlothlin met him in the lobby and escorted him up to her room on the third floor, police said.
Once inside the room, McGlothlin offered the officer sexual acts in exchange for $250, police said. At that point, she was taken into custody.
She was released on $1,000 bond and is next scheduled to appear in court Feb. 29.
