'Originals' week offers three courses for $20.08

The organization of local, independent restaurants known as the Chicago Originals announces "The Originals Restaurant Week," beginning Sunday and continuing through Feb. 3. During this time, each member restaurant offers a three-course dinner for $20.08, as well as several bottles of wine at that price.

Le Titi de Paris, 1015 W. Dundee Road, Arlington Heights presents a regional French dinner at 7:30 p.m. today. The meal, focusing on the Burgundy region, includes six courses paired with wines selected by the evening's host, Le Titi sommelier Marcel Flori. The Union League of Chicago, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago is the site for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago's seventh annual "d'Vine Affair: A Tasting of Fine Wines." From 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, attendees can sample more than 250 wines from the West Coast, Europe and around the world, attend a wine appreciation seminar or bid on silent auction items. ROOM21, 2110 S. Wabash Ave., Chicago offers a "Meet the Pastry Chef" dessert and champagne tasting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Kate Milashus, the restaurant's new executive pastry chef, whips up treats including pink champagne truffles and espresso walnut fudge, with a selection of three champagnes to wash them down.
