Home buyers invited to attend foreclosure prevention seminar

The public is invited to take part in the Northwest Suburban Homeownership Preservation and Foreclosure Prevention/Loan Restructuring Workshop-Summit from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 930 W. Higgins Road, Schaumburg,

The event is hosted by Living Faith Cathedral Worship Center Church and its corporate partners. A continental breakfast, luncheon and seminar materials will be provided, as well as free child care.

Participants should bring documents, loan agreements and any additional information that will assist with loan restructuring, debt counseling and foreclosure prevention. For senior citizens and mortgage professionals, the reverse mortgage concept will be explained.

The recently enacted Mortgage Forgiveness Relief Act will be discussed. First-time home buyers are eligible for a $1,000 grant given by the local chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.
