ReStore booth coming to home show next month

Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley's ReStore in Elgin will be a featured booth at the annual Old House New House Home Show Feb. 8-10 at Pheasant Run Resort and DuPage Expo Center in St. Charles.

ReStore's exhibit booth, plus a portion of the show's ticket sales, are being donated to Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley by Kennedy Productions in Lisle.

"Because thousands of people attend this great event, we have a fantastic opportunity to make people aware of ReStore and what a wonderful resource it is to the community," said Jeremy Keen, ReStore manager. "We're excited to be featured at the Old House New House Home Show again and are grateful to Kennedy Productions for their generosity and continued support of Habitat's mission."

ReStore Elgin, 860 N. State St. in Elgin, is a 20,000-square-foot building materials reuse center benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley. It accepts donated new and gently used goods from retailers, manufacturers, distributors, contractors and homeowners. Building supplies are then sold, at greatly reduced prices, to the general public. The store's operation generates funds to support Habitat's house building program in the northern Fox Valley area, while reducing the amount of material that would otherwise go to overflowing landfills, which makes ReStore environmentally and economically friendly.

Old House New House Home Show is the largest, most innovative, and longest running home show in the Chicago area. It is well-established, consistently attractive, selective and resourceful, making it the finest and most highly-anticipated home show in the area. Kennedy Productions has been presenting consumer shows of distinction since 1977. This bi-annual event has grown into a full service, one-stop shopping expo, featuring more than 400 distinguished home enhancement specialists. Spectacular displays including outdoor living exhibits and beautiful garden displays at the DuPage Expo Center as well as cutting-edge workshops, appealing attractions and state-of-the-art products focus on home improvement as well as home life and enjoyment.

Brice Cooper of "Design on a Dime" and HGTV will be there sharing his ingredients for "fabulous, functional kitchens." New this year, Roger Cook, landscape contractor of "This Old House," will share new trends in landscaping and his expert advice.
