Reason not to vote for a new school

In response to Betsy Dudak's letter of Jan. 14, if what she says is true, then it seems to me that the voters of District 200 would be foolish to vote to build a new middle school when the existing school has been so badly neglected and maintained. Broken seats, mice, mold, poorly plastered walls all speak to a neglected school, not one with regular maintenance.

If District 200 can't maintain an existing school, what makes us think they can or should maintain a new school?

Maybe I should get a list of the District 200 voters who vote for the new school and ask them to give me a chunk of money to tear down my house and build a new one, just because I don't feel like maintaining it anymore.
