Motorola finishes Vertex tender offer
SCHAUMBURG -- Motorola announced its subsidiary, MI Inc., completed its tender offer to acquire a controlling interest in Vertex Standard Co., a global provider of two-way radio communication systems. The tender offer period expired Tuesday with about 5.4 million shares tendered and accepted. Motorola will own about 78 percent of Vertex Standard, while Tokogiken Co., a privately held Japanese company controlled by Vertex Standard's CEO Jun Hasegawa, will retain a 20 percent stake.
