Sixteen Waubonsee Students will exhibit artwork at the Yorkville city hall as part of "Art in City Hall," presented by the city of Yorkville, through Jan. 24. Open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Yorkville's city hall, 800 Game Farm Road. There will be a special closing reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 24; the public is invited.
The artists featured in the show were chosen by Waubonsee's art faculty and include: Amanda Bloome, Erika McIlnay and Fred Miller, of Elburn; Daniel Capobianco, Ed Manning and Vincent Reinhardt, of Geneva; Jeffrey Chipman, of Sycamore; Peter Cruse, of Sheridan; Thomas Hartman, of Oswego; Steven Haye, of North Aurora; Patricia Janecek, of Aurora; Todd Johnson and Deborah Shamsuddin, of Yorkville; Lynessa Noll, of Hinckley; Tim Shelton, of Plano; and Susan Zanis, of Sugar Grove.
Aurora University Art Show, "Movement and Metaphor," artworks by Dominic Moore and Karen Lange at the Downstairs Dunham Gallery in Dunham Hall, 1400 Marseillaise Place in Aurora. The show is free and runs through Feb. 28 and is part of AU's 2007-08 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.

"Weapons of Mass Media,"

Elgin Academy Upper and Middle School students will exhibit their art work at the St. Charles Library at 1. S. Sixth St., through Jan. 31. This is a juried show and only the best art work of the academy students from the area is included. Area residents interested in learning more about the academy and its new Media, Science and Fine Arts Center, scheduled to open this fall, are invited to attend. A special exhibition featuring the American presidents and presidential candidates who visited Geneva runs from Jan. 26 to March 1 at the Geneva History Center, 113 S.
