Quitting smoking in Hoffman Estates
In the wake of the Illinois Clean Air Act banning cigarette smoking in public places, the village of Hoffman Estates and St. Alexius Medical Center are offering a six-week class to kick the habit.
Class starts Wednesday at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Fee is $50, which covers all family members. To register, call (847) 253œ9426.
Harper holds Tech Night Wednesday
Harper College will hold its Tech Night at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Harper Professional Center, 650 E. Higgins Road, Suite 9 South, Schaumburg. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Seminars include: project management, game development, computer graphic arts overview, CompTIA convergence, radio frequency identification, and selling yourself as a technical professional.

Breakfast with legislators set
The Greater O'Hare Association will hold a "Breakfast with your Legislators" meeting from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Belvedere Banquets, 1170 W. Devon Ave., Elk Grove Village.
Each legislator will be given a few moments to report on major issues concerning the business community. Participants can submit specific questions to the legislators by moderator, attorney Lawrence H. Donoghue.
Legislators confirmed to attend include Sens. Carole Pankau and Dan Kotowski, Reps. Sandy Pihos, Dennis Reboletti, Elaine Nekritz, Rosemary Mulligan, Carolyn Krause, Angelo Saviano and Franco Coladipietro.
