Islanders top Flames in shootout

Mike Sillinger scored twice in regulation and added another in the shootout, leading the New York Islanders to a 5-4 victory over the host Calgary Flames on Friday night.

In the shootout, Kristian Huselius led off and scored to put the Flames ahead 1-0. Sillinger answered back with a goal. Rick DiPietro stopped Jarome Iginla, then Richard Park scored on a deke to put the Islanders up. DiPietro ended it with a save on Owen Nolan's shot.

It was another busy night for DiPietro. He faced 42 shots -- a season high for Calgary. In the first four games of the Islanders' five-game road trip, DiPietro has faced an average of 39.5 shots.

Trent Hunter and Ruslan Fedotenko also scored for New York, which has lost just twice in regulation in the past 11 games (6-2-3).

Nolan scored two goals, and Craig Conroy and Dustin Boyd also scored for Calgary.
