Ingleside man accused of sharing child porn

An Ingleside man was ordered held on $100,000 bond Thursday after police said he put child pornography into an Internet file-sharing service.

Lake County Assistant State's Attorney Mary Stanton said John Klickman, 37, was arrested Wednesday night by Lake County sheriff's deputies and state's attorney's office investigators.

Stanton said Klickman was a member of an Internet file sharing service in which people could post music files, videos and photographs for others to view.

Klickman is charged with posting a lewd video of a 9-year-old girl in his personal library, which allowed all other members of the service to access it.

A Wheaton police officer who was a member of the service in an undercover capacity downloaded the video last month, Stanton said.

That officer traced the video to a computer at Klickman's house at 36543 N. Iola Ave., and Lake County police were notified.

Associate Judge Theodore Potkonjak told Klickman he is charged with distribution and possession of child pornography and ordered him to appear in court Jan. 18.

Stanton said Klickman faces a mandatory prison sentence of four to 15 years if convicted.
