Bloomingdale man 'critical' after expressway shooting

Police are investigating the shooting of a Bloomingdale man early Thursday on the Kennedy Expressway.

Kendall Rogers, 31, was listed in critical condition with multiple wounds at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago following the incident, Illinois State Police said.

The shooting followed an altercation at a Chicago restaurant on Halsted Street around 4 a.m., Master Sgt. Luis Gutierrez said.

Rogers' assailant followed him onto the expressway and shot into his Lincoln Town Car, which stopped in the northbound lanes of the Kennedy near Chicago Avenue.

No one is in custody yet. Police are still trying to determine what sparked the altercation and how many people were involved.

One lane of traffic was closed as a result of the investigation.
