Community input sought: The Grayslake Area Public Library District is seeking a dozen people to participate in the Community Planning Committee portion of the library's long range planning process. The group's charge is to envision the year 2013, describe why the area served by the library district is a wonderful place to live, and tell how the library contributes to that. Then the group will select and recommend to the library board two or three of the Public Library Association's Service Responses which will become the primary focus of the library's activities for the next five years.

Participants do not have to be library card holders or library users. They can be any age from high school to senior citizen, male or female, of any ethnic background or religious affiliation. The more diversity in the group, the better it will help the library serve all patrons. The only restriction is that participants must be residents of the Grayslake Area Public Library District.

Time requirements are minimal. There will be a two-hour evening orientation session one evening in January and a facilitator-led session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a day in January.
