Fill out survey to find U-46 superintendent
In its ongoing efforts to gain community input into the search for the next superintendent of Elgin Area School District U-46, the board of education has launched a survey that is available online at www.u-46.org or by calling (847) 888-5000, ext. 5040.
The survey is available in both English and Spanish.
"Our goal is to use the input of all U-46 stakeholders to finalize a position profile for the next leader of our school district," said Ken Kaczynski, president of the board of education.
"The survey will help us identify the issues the public would like the next superintendent to address, and traits or characteristics the public would like to see in the candidates the board selects to interview."
The results of the survey will be compiled by ProAct Search Inc., a Milwaukee-based nationwide superintendent search firm hired by the board last month.
In addition, the board will be hosting nine community forums aimed at allowing any citizen from the communities served by the district to share comments about attributes to consider for the next district leader.
Printed copies of the survey will also be available at each forum, including:
• 7 p.m. today at South Elgin High, 760 E. Main; Educational Services Center, 355 E. Chicago St. in Elgin; and Bartlett High, 701 Schick.
• 7 p.m. Thursday for the Citizens' Advisory Council meeting at Elgin High, 1200 Maroon Drive, Elgin; Larkin High, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin; and Tefft Middle School, 1100 Shirley, Streamwood.
