Stars end four-game losing streak

Antti Miettinen scored 2 goals to help the Dallas Stars end a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Monday night.

Rookie Matt Niskanen also scored for the Stars, who hadn't lost four in a row since a five-game skid in 2003. Mike Ribeiro, who signed a new five-year, $25 million contract on Monday, added 2 assists for Dallas.

Brenden Morrow also had 2 assists for the Stars.

Mark Parrish scored Minnesota's goal. It was his 12th of the season and extended his goal-scoring streak to four games.

Niskanen helped Dallas take a 1-0 lead when he fired a loose puck past goaltender Niklas Backstrom from low in the left circle at 5:50 of the second period.

That ended Dallas' scoreless streak of 107 minutes, 29 seconds. The Stars had been shut out in their previous two games, with Niskanen notching their previous goal last Thursday night at Minnesota.
