Disheartened by teacher criticism
I have read the Daily Herald articles and comments in the Fencepost in regards to teachers' salaries, abilities, and purpose.
I am a teacher. From the stand the Herald has taken, to present only the side that educators are money mongers, and the viewpoints of so many members of our society who believe teachers live a high lifestyle, I have become highly discouraged as to how others view my profession.
I still proudly say I teach and teach well because I truly care about my students and their educational and personal welfare, but my faith in your readers has diminished as has my desire to continue to read this publication.
