The Warren-Newport Public Library District serves a population of approximately 58,000 within a 55-square mile area that covers all or most of Warren and Newport Townships, including Gurnee, Wadsworth, Park City, Wildwood, Grandwood Park, Old Mill Creek, and portions of Grayslake, Millburn, Lake Villa and Waukegan.
Let's talk books: Share ideas on books at the Warren-Newport Public Library in three book discussion groups under the leadership of librarian Debbie Hoffman. The Tuesday non-fiction group will meet on at 1:30 p.m. today to tackle "Appetite for Life" by Noel Riley Fitch. The Tuesday evening fiction group will discuss "Rule for Old Men Waiting" by Peter Pouncey at 7 p.m. today. The Saturday fiction group will discuss "Sophie's Choice" by William Styron at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Reservations are required and new members are welcome.
For Teens: Teens in sixth grade and up are invited to the Warren-Newport Public Library for a busy series of activities under the direction of Diane Braun and Denise Brown.

bull; The Anime Club will meet from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 17.
bull; Drop in and make something at Crafty Teens from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 21.
Free computer classes: The Warren-Newport Public Library offers learning opportunities to beginner computer users with free classes: Using the Internet at 2 p.m. Monday; Basic Email at 7 p.m. Jan. 17; and Basic Microsoft Word at 7 p.m. Jan. 23. Participants will have hands-on instruction in a small group setting with up-to-date equipment and teachers from the library reference staff. Reservations, along with mouse and keyboard skills, are required.
