All-girl trio to perform Bacharach's best

The song's query is simple: "What do you get when you fall in love?"

If you fall in love with 3Girls3, a trio set to perform Wednesday at Naperville's 95th Street Library, you get lively harmonies.

The vocalists will perform a selection of songs straight from venerable composer Burt Bacharach's catalog, a list that likely will include one of the hits Dionne Warwick made famous, "I'll Never Fall in Love Again."

The group features three women, all accomplished singers and musicians.

"One of them, Heather Moran, performed here last year on her own," said Mary Bannon, the library's public programming coordinator.

A Naperville resident, Moran proposed the idea of bringing 3Girls3 to the library, Bannon said.

"We've got a lot of music at the library," Bannon said. "We've offered music here for the last seven years."

She said the show will be in Meeting Room A/B, a space that seats 225 people.

"It has great acoustics," she said.

There's no admission charge, but concert goers must register to attend, she said. Registrants must hold a valid Naperville Library card and be Naperville residents.

Bannon said Moran's offer to bring 3Girls3 to the library was welcomed enthusiastically.

"They're quite well known in Chicago on the cabaret circuit," she said.

The group consists of Moran, who is also an actress; singer Gail Becker, who hails from Batavia; and MaryMonica Thomas, who sings aboard the Odyssey cruise ship that sails out of Navy Pier.

3Girls3 recently performed its "Back to Bacharach" show at the Park West and Davenport's Cabaret in Chicago before giving a performance at the Empire Plush Room in San Francisco.

The group's Web site, www.3girls3.com, promises Wednesday's audience will hear "Close to You," "Walk on By," "One Less Bell to Answer," "Alfie" and "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head."

Bannon said the library's concert programs, typically offered several times per month, are popular with patrons.

"The people who come to see our programs have been very happy with our selection of performers," she said.
