Driver in Woodfield crash suffered aneurysm

An autopsy Sunday concluded that Dany Tiu suffered an aneurysm before he was involved in a four-car crash Saturday near the Woodfield Shopping Center.

The autopsy results concluded the 57-year-old Schaumburg resident died a natural death resulting from a ruptured ascending aortic aneurysm, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said Sunday.

Tiu was driving north in the southbound lanes of Mall Drive, just north of Woodfield Shopping Center, shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday when he sideswiped a 2000 Dodge Intrepid before colliding with a 1988 Honda Accord, pushing the Accord into a 2003 Mazda 6.

None of the other drivers suffered life-threatening injuries, reports said.
