New Rockford leader has local ties
ROCKFORD -- Rockford College has announced a new president for the four-year liberal arts school.
Robert Head is currently the president of Urbana University in Ohio. He will begin his new job on July 1.
School officials say they chose Head after an eight-month nationwide search.
The 53-year-old is completing his seventh year as president at Urbana University. Head will become the 17th president of the northern Illinois school.
The chairman of Rockford College's board of trustees says Head has a great combination of business and academic experience.
Head was a former vice president at Chicago-based Northern Trust Company and an administrator at Benedictine University in suburban Lisle.
