Fields of Geneva East simply fine

When Pamela and Robert Stone and their two children moved from Wilmington, Ill., 10 years ago, they wanted to live in Geneva close to where Robert worked.

But they didn't have to go of trekking through subdivision after subdivision. Their house hunt turned out to be an easy task.

"We just walked in an open house, and the house was what we wanted and just the right size," Pamela Stone said. "It had a finished walkout basement, so that added an extra level for us.

"The yards are very small here," Stone said. "But we had a big yard in our previous house, so the small yard was attractive because we have a park behind us, and we don't have to cut that."

The couple enjoys sitting on the front porch of their two-story, three-bedroom home and on the deck in the back.

"This is a nice family neighborhood with lots of kids, so that's nice," Stone said. "And we have very nice neighbors."

Located just west of Kirk Road and south of Division, Fields of Geneva East is an established neighborhood with lots of trees.

The subdivision features two-story homes with three or four bedrooms, basements and two-car garages.

"This is a popular subdivision because it's on the east side of Geneva, and a lot of people like being on the east side because it's close to Kirk Road and they can quickly access I-88," said Kelly Crowe, real estate agent with Baird & Warner in St. Charles. "For people who have jobs farther east, that's huge.

"Also, it's an affordable area for Geneva with some nice starter homes. For people who have a townhouse and want to buy a single-family home, this is where they go."

One of the subdivision's biggest attractions is its proximity to the downtown areas of Geneva and St. Charles and the quaint shops, restaurants and riverwalk, said Yvonne Rusin, real estate agent with Baird & Warner in Wheaton.
