Lisle earns 10-pin shutout against Aurora Central

Lisle looked about as dominating as a high school wrestling team could look Thursday night. Actually, the Lions were.

The host Lions scored the maximum number of points a team can score, routing Aurora Central 84-0.

Out of the 14 matches, 10 of them were ended by way of pinfall with the other four ending by forfeit.

Brandon Wolak got the match started in the right direction for Lisle with a pin early in the second period in the 103-pound bout. Brian Reese (112 pounds), Matt Rafacz (119) and Adam Gleason (125) kept the pin party going.

The pin streak ended at 130 pounds when Henry Yan won by forfeit.

Then it was back to the Lions (10-0) putting the Chargers (3-8) flat on their backs.

John Franck (135), Josh Andrzejewski (140), Jake Kretman (145) and David Pawlowicz (152) all won by pin, keeping the trend alive.

"A match like this is good because we can all leave happy because we win," Andrzejewski said. "We're a pretty good wrestling team, and we showed that tonight. My match was a little ugly and I was lucky I stumbled into a pin."

Eric Barker (189), the last wrestler to win by pin, said he had a feeling the outcome would end up the way that it did before even the first match started.

"This is the first time all year we have shut a team out and scored the max," Barker said. "We knew that if we came out strong they would have a lot of problems with us. We are such a strong team."

Aurora Central coach Justen Lehr was not too pleased with his team's effort after the match.

"They are a good team and there is a reason they are ranked in Class A," Lehr said. "It was frustrating to see all of those pins. I told my guys it is all about attitude, and we need to make them work for everything. We didn't accomplish that."
